Kesavan makes it a point to understand his clients’ operations and circumstances so that he can help them achieve their aims and objectives with practical commercial advice and solutions for the legal predicaments they find themselves in. His client portfolio comprises individuals, small and medium enterprises, listed and foreign entities.

In various commercial, corporate, employment, family and other disputes, Kesavan has appeared as Counsel at the Subordinate Courts, the High Court, Court of Appeal, in Arbitrations as well as at the Ministry of Manpower. His criminal practice has also seen him appear in trials, appeals and hearings in the Juvenile Court, Military Court Martial, Subordinate Courts, High Court and the Court of Appeal as well as Advisory Committee Hearings. Kesavan also provides advice in non-contentious matters as well as the necessary documentation required for probate, real estate, corporate and business transactions. He is also briefed by the HDB as Counsel in appeal proceedings under the Land Acquisition Act and has been retained as Counsel by foreign law firms including from the UK, USA, China, Hong Kong, Isle of Man and Jamaica.

Kesavan qualified as a Barrister-at-law in the UK in 1990, was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in the High Court of Australia in 1991 and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Singapore as an Advocate & Solicitor in 1992. He is a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers and is also a Notary Public and a Commissioner for Oaths.

Sharmila Nair

Sharmila’s corporate practice draws on her experience in professional practice as well as acting as group legal counsel in both a well-established Singapore private company and a Singapore public-listed company. She advises her clients in start-up businesses, structuring and financing their investments, ventures and transactions, joint venture and shareholding agreements and other corporate transactions, which include participating in negotiations, preparation of documentation for incorporation, structuring or restructuring of companies, including shareholder structure, investment, stock option plans, joint ventures, sale and purchase of businesses. She also assists and advises clients in the setting up of companies and businesses, which includes the provision of general legal advice and services to establish their presence in Singapore; preparation of contracts, employment contracts, and also provision of company secretarial advice and services, preparing all necessary company resolutions. Sharmila’s practice also deals with contentious and non-contentious matrimonial and trust / estate matters and private client work. Sharmila is also a Notary Public.

Melissa Leong

Melissa graduated from the University of Leeds with an LLB Hons (Second Class Upper) in 2008 and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor in Singapore in 2010. She is one of the founding Directors of Bayfront Law LLC.

Prior to joining Bayfront Law LLC, Melissa practiced in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution of a reputable law firm where she was involved in a broad range of general litigation matters including corporate and commercial disputes, insurance matters, arbitration, enforcement of intellectual property rights, criminal matters and building and construction matters.

Melissa also acts for clients in contentious and non-contentious divorces, including advising on issues of child custody, child abduction, division of matrimonial assets, separation and family violence.

Melissa’s practice includes non-contentious matters. She routinely advises local businesses and small medium enterprises on corporate advisory matters, restructuring and employment matters. Melissa also runs an active conveyancing practice and acts for corporate and individual clients in transactions involving commercial, private and public (HDB) properties.

Jonathan Wong

Jonathan advises on general corporate and commercial matters with a particular focus on cross-border joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and investments.

His area of practice also includes advising clients on day-to-day business matters, including regulatory compliance issues and employment related matters. He is also able to advise on civil and commercial disputes.

Jonathan graduated from the University of Nottingham and is called to the Singapore bar.

Alvin’s area of practice is in corporate law and commercial law. He has experience in mergers and acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.

Alvin is able to advise on employment and personal data protection issues, as well as advising on general civil disputes.

Alvin graduated from Victoria University of Wellington and is called to the Singapore bar.

Lo Kim Seng is a Director of Bayfront Law LLC. Mr. Lo’s practice areas are primarily in capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, corporate and commercial. His clients are mainly Singapore listed companies.

Mr. Lo is a Teaching Fellow at the Singapore Institute of Legal Education and a member of the Corporate Practice Committee of the Law Society of Singapore. He teaches the Corporate Governance module in the Listed Company Directors Programme organised by the Singapore Institute of Directors (SID) and pro bono legal adviser to the Securities Investors’ Association of Singapore (SIAS).
